Kapa Haka NBS Theatre Performance

On Tuesday night the Westport South School Kapa Haka Group performed at the N.B.S Theatre.  We were really proud of the children in our class who performed (along with all the other children).  What an inspiration you all are!  Fantastic effort guys!

More Amazing Posters...

In Room 12 we have been practicing our internet research skills. We were allowed to choose a famous person to research and make a poster about. There were certainly some interesting choices!
Aaron chose the amazing Charlie Pride for his poster.  What a lot of information Aaron!  Tumeke!
Leighton chose to learn about Mythbusters' Jamie Hyneman.  Connor helped too!

Kapa Haka Performance...

Today at the special assembly the school Kapa Haka Group performed.  Look carefully and see if you can spot any of our children.

Milk, Dye and Dish Washing Liquid Experiment...

This one was really fun!  We watched as the dye ran away from the dish washing liquid!   It made some fabulous patterns.

Making Rock Crystals...

Issac, Aaron and Bailey with their rock crystals that they grew from sugar, water and red food colouring.

Wet day play...

Some of the boys were really into puzzles during our wet lunchtimes.  What a great way to keep busy and out of mischief boys!

Thank you Fonterra!

A huge thank you to Fonterra for providing us with our free milk this term.  We made some milk Mustaches to show our appreciation!

Principals Award

These wonderful children all received Principals Awards this week.  Well done Seth for all your hard work learning your times tables!

Super Scientists

Great work TeHana and Ariana on completing your extra homework challenge. .. (Seth, Aaron and Georgia brought in some wonderful creations too!)

Harold Assembly!

Look who was at Assembly today!  Today it was a special assembly to help Pat Walsh celebrate the beginning of his retirement.  Pat has been driving Harold and Carmen around the country for the last 18 years.  What an amazing effort.  Thanks Pat!

Shantytown Visit...

Today we were extremely lucky to have the wonderful teachers from Shantytown come to our school and teach us about Edible Mixtures of the Victorian Era.  We learnt about changes in matter, how to create our own non-toxic cleaning products and glue, how to make damper bread and how to make apple juice.  Plus we also had some fun with our favourite substance... baking soda!
