Making Healthy Choices!
The Pukeko's had an interesting article to read this week about Pseudoscience. They carried out an experiment to check and see if low fat chips are really all that much better for you than normal chips. The results were a bit mixed but we all decided that there was still a lot of oil in both chips.
Josie went away and wrote about it at home!

Sophie's Been Baking!
After reading this recipe with her reading group, Sophie went home and made some lovely muffins to share with the class. Thanks Soph, they are awesome!
What a sweetie!
After a noisy day on Tuesday, Farrah came in on Wednesday morning with a spectacular card for Mrs Clem. Thanks Farrah!
Fishing with Kieran!

Teacher Strike Action!
Just a note to remind you all that school will be closed this Wednesday 15th August as the teachers take industrial strike action. Teachers from all Buller schools will be gathering at the clock tower at 10am and will be marching at 10.30am, to our local MP's office. It would be great to see people there to support us. Kua tae te wa... It's time!
2018 U10 Rugby Champs!
Here are a few pictures from Saturdays game that the Westport U10 team played and drew. What a great game, real nail biting stuff!
Principal's Award
Congratulations Jed Avery. You are an exceptionally hard worker in Room 12 and have achieved your goals in writing. Tumeke!
Super Soup Day!
Conrad and Teresa made a huge pot of vege soup for us to try on Friday. It is part of our making healthy choices. Not everyone liked vege soup though so Mrs Clem brought along some Chicken Noodle soup as well. Yum!
Dodge Ball
Here are Room 12 enjoying a game of "Doctor Dodge". A great way to improve our fitness and have fun!
Headphones
If you have a spare pair of headphones at home bring them along for when you are using the chrome books. It can be very helpful when we are completing games on Studyladder or for when we are viewing Youtube to see explanations of how things work. The school is not able to provide them as we discourage children sharing headsets (due to the spreading of head lice).
